June News Letter
June started with beautiful hot, dry weather but the Harriers were not deterred by this and took all their commitments in their stride.
Poole Half Marathon -
Mike H and Jeannette embarked on the 13.1 miles alone the scenic route taking in Poole, Holes Bay and Upton Country Park. The weather was extremely hot and exhausting. Mike managed it in 2hrs 2mins and Jeannette in 2hrs 4mins, in those conditions a very commendable performance.
Park Run News –
While taking a relaxing holiday in Canada, Bob Barnett ran the Victoria Park, Ontario, parkrun in a time of 25.51. He came 5th overall, well done.
Park Runs are not big in Canada this was the first race they put on and there were only 25 runners. Never the less a great achievement.
Ian and Sarah were on their travels again and took in two new Park Runs, Peacehaven and Bath Skyline. Wherever next?
The local Park Runs were ran by other Harriers who love staying at home.
Purbeck 10 –
Ian (42.14), Mike (51.17), Carol (58.08) and Kevin (66.56) all represented the Harriers in this race. Great achievement as the weather was hot and the course undulating!
The following day Ian and Carol also ran Lulworth 10k. Both with respectable times. Too much punishment for one weekend I think.
The Summer series at Upton Country Part had 2 runners in June. Mike Hughes 28.55 and Rebecca Collins 29.25.
