The Hamworthy Harriers were established in 1987 by a small dedicated group of runners working for the Hamworthy Engineering company in Poole. Originally the running section of the company’s recreation club, the Harriers have grown in strength and diversity over the years and have developed into one of the area’s most popular running clubs. The Harriers philosophy has always been to balance the sport of running with an active social side and a sense of fun.

The Harriers’ home is the excellent Hamworthy Club in Wimborne, Dorset, where we are fortunate to enjoy one of the best equipped sports and social facilities in the area. Sporting opportunities at the club range from a 9 hole golf course to a well equipped fitness studio. The club’s regular programme of high quality entertainment ideally suits the Harriers who can often be found enjoying a drink in the lounge after a mid-week training run.
