| Andy Clements "Harrier of the Year" |
Andy Clements has been awarded "Harrier of the Year" at the annual club dinner.
A sunny Sunday lunchtime saw the Harriers meet up for the annual club dinner. This year the Popular "Ghurka" restaurant in Poole was to be the venue, and the usual suspects were to be found congregating outside the Angel waiting for opening time in order to rehydrate after a Sunday morning run.
Mike Hughes gave a speech in which he thanked all who had given their time and effort in the service of the Club. Special thanks went to Chris Smithers who turns out every Sunday morning to provide back up for the Harriers on their runs over the Purbecks. The sight of Chris in his car is a welcome sight when the going gets tough and many runners from other clubs have expressed their appreciation for the support that he gives to all runners in the Purbecks. Thanks also went to Karen who provides support on our Wednesday runs and makes sure we are fed and watered ( and wined!) after the evenings efforts.
Mike finished his speech with the awarding of Harrier of the Year to Andy Clements, Andy has had an exceptional year, turning out for the Harriers throughout the cross country season and also offering advice when asked, and inspiration to his fellow Harriers. A great effort and a well earned award.
