Results from today's Hampshire League cross country at the new venue of Popham airfield near Basingstoke.

Nick Gavin senior - 118th
John Cakebread V55 - 162th
Gerrard Lissenburg V50 - 187th
Greg Haggar V45 - 214th
Mike Fleck V50 - 224th.

Good new venue well organised as usual by Overton Harriers - our thanks to them. A good testing course, excellent for spectators though slightly muddy underfoot ( shoes were lost ! )There were tasty Bacon rolls available but unfortunately no Pies ( I like Pies).
The men's winner crossed the line hardly out of breath whereas every one else looked knackered. Andy was 1st Harrier home whilst the rest of the squad did us proud not least Mike Fleck making a welcome return to the Hampshire league ( Great North run training started early ! ). Another familiar faces making a return was John Boyce running for that other lot near Boscombe.
Soup and bread provided by Juliet warmed everyone up afterwards, as our Welsh leader and normal soup man where otherwise engaged watching big men with odd shaped balls running round a field.(as opposed to thin (mostly) blokes with cold balls running round a field).
