On a chilly Saturday afternoon the Harriers cross country team braved a bitterly cold  wind at Hudson's field in Salisbury, situated on the slopes below Old Sarum hill fort it proved a tough final outing for the 09/10 season. Our local rivals pulled out all the stops to gain promotion in their respective divisions ,fielding all the stars from their clubs . Not to be outdone the Harriers fielded their own Big Gunner Ian Edwards who donned his studs for the 1st time this season.
Andy Clements led us home as ever, even managing to lap his slowest team mate.
Nigel Rogerson stormed back after a long while out injured with Nick Gavin his ever cheerful self close by. John Cakebread was disappointed that the course was only 9 kilometres long, a mere sprint as he continues his ultra training in preparation for the comrades marathon. whilst Greg was reminded of his home in Norway- cold and exposed.
Mike Hughes took care of the recording, whilst Bob Coombes provided the much appreciated soup and bread on this, his final cross country outing after many years service both as a runner, recorder and soup-erteer, thanks for all your help Bob.
A good day out confirmed by our winning promotion ! with the added bonus of a scenic journey home taking in Shaftsbury and Blandford!

regards
Arthur Harrier
